Queer Community Hub

In January 2026,

Raya and Ezra started two grassroots initiatives, Storyboard and Queer MeetUp.

The two soon grew together into the Queer Community Hub, which continues to expand as we see the rising need in our communities for spaces to connect, network, and build the kind of community we want in our lives.

As migrants who started with minimal access and support themselves, Raya and Ezra built these resources and opportunities from the ground up.

Queer Community Hub / Queer MeetUp

Queer MeetUp or (QMU/Queer Community Hub), is a space for queer and trans folks

to connect, navigate resources, attend local events, offer mutual aid,

and access community support — all free and rooted in a spirit of reciprocity.

Storyboard

Storyboard is a creative space that brings together

queer and trans folks across Hampton Roads

through storytelling, conversation, and creative expression.

Together, we explore the complexities of identity, belonging,

and collective memory with curiosity and care.

While QMU centers accessible resources and mutual aid,

Storyboard offers a slower, more reflective space

for storytelling and  sharing.

What to Expect

Our conversations touch on themes such as migration, colonization,

substance use, intersectionality, cultural reclamation,

and reconnecting with our history.

We recognize that these topics can be deeply personal,

so we approach them with compassion, accountability, and respect for

the many different lived experiences within our communities.

Storyboard and QMU are intended to be supportive, harm-reduction, and community-centered spaces where people can share stories,

exchange ideas, and learn from one another.

We welcome those who identify as Black, Indigenous, Asian, Pasifika, and communities of color,

as well as queer and trans members of these communities, friends,

and anyone with meaningful connections to these identities

who joins in the spirit of listening, mutual respect, and care.
